1. Have a picnic

Many of Langkawi’s beaches are long and sandy, perfect for a family picnic or a quiet afternoon of reading. Pack some sandwiches or salads, along with snacks, drinks and perhaps some homemade cake to enjoy with your loved ones (or all of the above if you’re traveling solo).

You can even take it up a notch by bringing along your swimsuits and towels, so that you can enjoy an afternoon at the beach.

2. Swim!

Swimming in the sea is always fun, but if you’re not a strong swimmer, you can still enjoy swimming on Langkawi’s beaches. There are lots of water sports to try, like windsurfing or kayaking. You can also enjoy snorkeling or diving, if you’re an experienced diver.

If you just want to lie on the beach and sunbathe, there are some excellent options too! The most popular of these is Pantai Tengah, which has something for every taste. You can choose to lie on the beach under the shade of palm trees, splash about in the waves with your family, or relax with a cocktail under an umbrella.

3. Take A Walk

Okay, so this is a little like walking in the park. But if you’re in Langkawi for a holiday, you must choose between spending all your time shopping or relaxing by the pool. No one will blame you for choosing the latter, but why not combine the two?

Getting a good tan on a tropical beach is a lot more fun if you can go for a walk at the same time. Taking some exercise while you explore is a win-win situation! There are many beaches to explore on Langkawi, so take your pick and get walking!

Wear comfortable shoes and remember that water shoes are ideal for walking on soft sand or rocky areas. You might even want to go for a snorkel while you’re there! Just bring some snacks and drinks with you from your hotel room and enjoy some me-time outdoors without venturing too far from your resort or villa.

4. Beach Bumming

Langkawi is famous for its white sandy beaches, which are sure to relax you even if you don’t end up doing anything else while you’re there! Lie back on one of the beaches, dip your feet in the water, build sandcastles or just take in the view without having to do anything else there.

5. Watch the Sunset

They say a picture paints a thousand words. And while the abundant beauty of Langkawi is easily found in professional photography, there is something different about seeing it for yourself. It’s one thing to read about the beautiful sunsets over the ocean and fresh seafood on the island, but it’s another to see it for yourself.

6. Join A Beach Art Workshop with Beach Artist at Pantai Cenang
